Monetary Awards for Teachers

 

All Licensed Personnel applying for a grant should receive approval from their site administrator.

 

Reminder: Per CCSD Regulation 3221, any grant application in excess of $25,000, requiring an MOU or other special factors, must be applied through the Grants Development and Administration Department. If you wish to apply, please call 799-3355.

Character Education Awards

 

National KIND Teacher Award

The National Association for Humane and Environmental Education recognizes an outstanding teacher who consistently incorporates humane and environmental education into his or her curriculum.

 

National Schools of Character Program

National Schools of Character (NSOC) is an annual awards program recognizing K-12 schools and districts demonstrating outstanding character education initiatives that yield positive results in student behavior, school climate and academic performance. Although winners may differ in method, content, and scope, all emphasize core ethical values such as honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Selected schools and districts receive a cash award of $2,000, national recognition, and are featured in the Character Education Partnership (CEP)’s annual NSOC book/CD and on CEP’s website.

 

Kennedy Center Launches Stephen Sondheim Inspirational Teacher Awards Program

Awards of $10,000 will be given to K-12 teachers and college instructors in the United States who have made a significant impact on the lives of students; nominations must be made by students….

 

National/State Schools of Character Awards

The 2010 National/State Schools of Character Awards Program names public and private schools and districts (K-12) as National Schools of Character (NSOC) for their outstanding work in character education. The program honors recipients, showcases their work, and helps them to inspire and lead others. Maximum award: $20,000. Eligibility: schools engaged in character education for a minimum of three full years, starting no later than December 2006; districts engaged in character education for a minimum of four full years, starting no later than December 2005.

 

Nominations Invited for Teaching Tolerance Award for Excellence in Culturally Responsive Teaching

Nominations are invited for the NEA Teaching Tolerance Award for Excellence in Culturally Responsive Teaching, a new award created to honor educators who excel at teaching students from diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

 

VFW: National Citizenship Education Teachers’ Award
The VFW’s National Citizenship Education Teachers’ Award recognizes the nation’s top elementary, junior high, and high school teachers who teach citizenship education topics regularly and promote America’s history and traditions. Maximum award: $1,000. Eligibility: teachers K-12.
